Elinor Greenberg, PhD, CGP
Dr. Elinor Greenberg, psychologist, is an internationally renowned consultant, author, and Gestalt therapy trainer who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of Borderline, Narcissistic, and Schizoid adaptations. She is on the faculty of the New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy and the Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training, where she developed and teaches and 8-session course on personality disorders. Dr. Greenberg is an Associate Editor of Gestalt Review, a peer reviewed professional journal. She has trained therapists in the USA, Canada, England, Wales, Sicily, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Russia, Malta and Mexico.
Dr. Greenberg is also a graduate of and former faculty member of The Masterson Institute (a psychodynamic post-graduate training institute in a developmental, self and object relations approach to the theory and treatment of disorders of the self). In addition, she is certified as an Ericksonian hypnotherapist and is in the National Registry for Certified Group Psychotherapists.
Dr. Greenberg's hobby is the study of pre-psychoanalytic systems of personal growth, including Tarot, Kabbalah, and the Western Mystery School tradition. She has been the recipient of two Quora Top Writer awards for her posts on personality adaptations (Quora.com) and is the author of the online blog "Understanding Narcissism" for Psychologytoday.com. Her articles have been republished online by Forbes, Business Insider, Newsweek, Apple News, ThriveGlobal, You Tango and The Mind's Journal.
Dr. Greenberg is the author of the book: Borderline, Narcissistic, and Schizoid Adaptations: The Pursuit of Love, Admisration, and Safety - an easy to understand introduction to the diagnosis and treatment of personality disorders.
